RV Canada On A Dime And A Dream

Sharing in one of Barb Rees’ sessions is sure to give your audience a renewed sense of adventure, and belief in living their RV dreams. Basing her speeches on experiences from her working holidays across Canada, Barb has practical, fun tips.

In 2003 and 2007, Barb and her husband sold at markets from coast to coast in their RV. Based on their 2003 trip, Barb wrote the book RV Canada On A Dime And A Dream. This book was taken on a national book tour from Powell River to Newfoundland for four months in 2007. Where ever they go, they reach out to people, inspiring them to reach higher, to make their dreams come true no matter their age or income.

Barb is described as a very entertaining speaker. Not one to depend on Power Point, she uses simple props, handouts and frequent interaction with her audiences. Winner of several speech competitions Barb conveys her information in a warm, frank, and lively manner.

Born from a need for writers to have somewhere to meet for mutual encouragement and education, she started the writer’s group Sassyscribes locally and online. From there, she founded Powell River Festival of Writers (festivalofwriters.com) and continues to spearhead its bi-annual event for the fourth year. She is a very involved member of the local Toastmasters club, having served on the executive for five years. She is also a free-lance writer for magazines. With her husband involved in tourism, they enthusiastically promote Powell River.

Lessons From the Potholes of Life was her first book, and since returning from the 2007 trip, she is working on a sequel to RV Canada On A Dime And A Dream which she will take back on the road in 2009.

Managing your Tanks, When RVers have to go

Join John Clarke, the founder of Sanidumps.com, who has compiled the industry’s most comprehensive database of sani dumps around the world.

John brings over 35 years of camping and RV experience having owned everything from Pop-ups to Truck campers to Travel trailers to a 5th wheel. This seminar is a collection of practical do’s and don’ts that can save you dollars and those awkward moments that plague all RVers - novice and experts alike. The seminar tackles managing your Black & Grey tanks whether you’re on the road, boondocking or at a campground with full hookups. It’s full of tips and tricks presented in a fast, friendly and open forum.

Biography:
John and Chris Clarke and their 2 teenage daughters have grown up camping and boating in beautiful British Columbia for over 35 years and plan to be full timers upon retirement. They have travelled in Canada and the US.

John has worked as a Project Manager managing multi-million dollar IT projects and now runs a successful IT consulting business in Kelowna, BC. Chris has worked in the nursing profession for over 24 years and has been an entrepreneur all her life. They have managed to combine their passion for camping with John’s technology expertise as well as Chris’s nursing and entrepreneurial experience to develop and manage a sani dump internet web site, “Sanidumps.com”, that continues to provide free information to RVers around the world. The site boasts over 11,000 visitors/month and is growing rapidly. They enjoy sharing their experience and knowledge while at the same time meeting fellow RVers.

Both John and Chris have been frustrated with trying to locate RV dump sites and pump outs. In the past, they had used several camping catalogues to try and find the nearest location and it had been hit and miss. At times they had to drive hundreds of miles before they could dump their tanks and if they decided to take a detour or change their plans, a large amount of time was lost looking for RV dump stations.

Ideally, you should be able to find a dump site within 10 miles of your location and interestingly enough, that is very possible in North America if you know how to find one. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could just find dump sites on your GPS just like you find Wal Marts or Tim Hortons’? Now this is possible.

Visitors to the site are asking for more education on managing waste water tanks that will reduce repair costs, improve hygiene and be environmentally friendly, all of which contribute to the enjoyment of RVing anywhere, anytime.

We hope you enjoy the seminar and pick up a trick or two.
